GitHub Student Developer Pack is a free collection of tools provided by GitHub that is designed to help you progress your coding journey!

How do I get it?

Fill out an application of the GitHub Student website.

How is it useful to me?

Grants you many cool resources!

Sticker Surprise Idea

• YSWS (You Serve, We Serve) event
• You attend and code cool projects
  • We send you stickers through HackClub
• Event begins and ends in December, stickers ready sometime in January

Website maintainers

• I (D4LM), need help maintaining the website, as a maintainer please help with…
  • Creating agenda
  • Adding blogs
  • Patching bugs
  • Etc.
• As a reward for your actions, you can get stickers if you maintain the website for a couple of times until January 2026.

Contingency Plan

• It appears LHSCC is dying, I need you all to help actively maintain the club, code!

Projects you can do:

• Largo High School’s FTC team Golden Aleksei (#18592) is needing a new website, help them create one!
  • Contact D4LM for details, LHSCC members only

2.3 - November 7th, 2025

• Gianni, give me enough permissions so I can migrate my Discord bot!
• Gianni, send me the new logo and color scheme hex codes!
• Gianni, hang up the posters, the posters are still at home and if you want to help, hang them up ok!

YSWS

LHSCC Minecraft Server

• Come and join the minecraft server, Largo High School students only!
  • Join the Discord Server, invite link!
• Might host other video game servers, tell me if interested…

2.4 - October 30th, 2025

New Discord Server

Goals:

• Migrate LHSCC Discord Bot to that Discord Server
• Migrate new logo (maybe color scheme) to Discord Server
• Add new Discord invite link to website

Posters:

• If Gianni or some other people are willing to help, the posters are at home currently and I need someone to post them around the school.
• Creating our own posters (we could use HackClub posters as an example)

YSWS

• Probably will still happen, but need all of you to help advertise the event
• If there is enough interest from all of you than I will create the rules, and we can work on it as referenced on our previous agenda

You Serve We Serve (YSWS)

What is YSWS?

• YSWS is an initiative that for our club, that you (club member), will do something (code) and we (the club) will provide something in return.

Proposed idea:

• For the one Julian (D4LM) is thinking about is,

You(Club Member): Code for at least two meeting days and add up to 1 hour in total coding time. We(Club): Give you stickers sometime during the end of quarter 2 and also provide a starter example project to do.

Proposed rules:

1. You need to code at least 1 hour in total and must be for at least two meetings
2. You must be coding and not playing video games or using your phone
3. If you are found to have cheated in some way, either fake coding, like using hackertype
4. Use of generative AI is prohibited
5. Code must be shared to the club through GitHub and for non-simplex projects, documentation must be provided.
6. Project cannot be a fork of your own project or somebody else’s project
7. LHSCC has the sole right and authority to not serve you if not enough members are commited to the initiative or they have found you have cheated or manipulated the initiative in some way

Things we need to for the YSWS:

• Give it a name
• Create a docs category where main page contains rules and other items
• Get more members, create specific posters for this
• Other items

How to help code this website:

Development environment setup (Linux):

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/LHSCoding/main-website

2. Install Hugo & PostCSS

npm install -D autoprefixer
npm install -D postcss-cli
npm install -D postcss

3. Run Hugo Server

hugo server

Note: If the command reports an error, try:

hugo mod graph
